Rules refresher on when your ball lands on the cart path from Joann
Good news ! There ’ s no penalty . You have free relief if the ball comes to rest on the cart path or inhibits a golfer ’ s swing if the swing comes in contact with the path . First , pick the nearest point of relief from the path that is no closer to

Shortly after honoring Lisa Krecklow as the recipient of the First Citizen volunteer award , the Rotary Club of Wilsonville provided news on another notable initiative in town — the annual Summer Concert Series .
The free series , meant to serve as a “ thank you ” to the Wilsonville community , will feature four performances at 5:30 p . m . in late July and early August at Town Center Park .
Fan favorite Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts — which plays classic rock hits from the 1950s and ‘ 60s — will grace the the hole . ( Hint : Leave your ball as it lies and stand back along the path imagining taking your stance on either side of the cart path . The nearest point of relief is that side where your ball would be placed . You may not like the spot if it ’ s near rough , etc , but it is the NEAREST point of relief .) Mark that spot with a tee . Now , pick up your ball from the cart path . Measure one club length from the tee ( no nearer to the hole ) and place another tee . Drop your ball from knee height anywhere between the two tees . Remember , no penalty is taken since the cart path is a “ man-made ” object .
Review the CWGA Local Rules in our Handbook for clarification on other rules that apply during Day ’ s Play such as use-of-drop zones and preferred lies . Enjoy June play ! SOAK up lots of fun . If you want to play an extra day , remember we have CWGA tee times on Tuesdays . Make your own foursomes , identify at the Pro Shop as CWGA and double the weekly fun ! ( Remember to post all of your scores during the season .)
SOAK up the fun ! Cheers to sunshine and lots of roll on the fairways . Happy swinging .
