Choice Awards ,” which were voted on by the thousands of viewers . First place went to Diana Strom ( acrylic painting ) and second place was awarded to Jeanne Cardana ( colored pencil drawing ).
Expanded offering of music
In past festivals , several musicians have performed in the background . Moving online offered the opportunity to expand the inclusion of music in our festival , so Elaine created a music stage component to the website . David Rowe , Charbonneau guitarist and performer in previous festivals , recruited artists . As a result , a dozen musical performing acts shared original compositions as well as interpretations of jazz standards from the mid-20th century . From jazz to blues , from vocalists to instrumentalists — the music stage covered the gamut and moved music into the limelight of our virtual festival .
Awards of distinction
The curator of our art galleries , Leslie Leeper , worked with three judges to make Awards of Distinction in each major category , including the 3-D exhibit and Pandemic Art exhibit . Leslie commented , “ Both our artists and our judges were so impressed by the exhibition , quality of entries and ease of navigating such a huge show . We also received many compliments from the public .”
