Success by the numbers

The numbers tell a great story about our monthlong virtual Charbonneau Festival of the Arts and silent auction fundraiser . Website
HOEM data shows there were 5,300 total page views with nearly 2,000 unique visitors to our festival site . The live stream concert was viewed by about 100 folks . In the silent auction , 93 items were sold and several donations made for a total of $ 5,070 .
Although we can only compare with past festivals , the results certainly exceeded our expectations in an era of COVID-19 restrictions . Everyone involved thought it was a huge success . Photographer and musician , Don Latarski , said “ You all put together a wonderful event in a very challenging time .”
Artists and musicians had an outlet to display their creativity . Visitors had a chance to let their imagination be stimulated . And the success of our fundraiser will allow for a significant donation to the art programs at Canby and Wilsonville High Schools . Is there any better measure of success ?

Jewelry artist , Lea McWorter , commented to Elaine , “ Thank you for all your hard work on the event . You did a beautiful job !!!” ( Lea is the one who included the multiple exclamation points ).
Knowing that hundreds of hours of work went into creating the virtual exhibition , I asked Elaine how she felt about it in retrospect .
“ What encouraged me ,” she said , “ was seeing that it was helping the artists and musicians feel they could continue their creative expression in spite of the pandemic restrictions .” Elaine added that she thought our festival also encouraged the larger art community to see the possibilities of showing their work in the virtual realm .
Elaine herself was an exhibitor in photography and earned from website visitors third place in the “ People ’ s
