Men ’ s Club golf season ends
The Men ’ s Club golf season finished on Saturday , Oct . 15 with our Annual Business Meeting and Breakfast . Except for cash awards for
MASON holes-in-one , all formal game activity for the Men ’ s Club is complete for the year and will resume next March . That doesn ’ t mean members can ’ t play during this time , but there will not be any formal Men ’ s Club games and reporting of scores for handicap purposes ends Nov . 30 .
At the Annual Business Meeting , retiring board members were thanked and recognized for their service : Laurin Larsen , who served on the board for six years ,
primarily on the Tournament Committee ; Glen Ferguson , who served as our social chair , and Steve Werts , who served as board secretary , both serving three-year terms . Jeff Cummings , who served on our board for two years and filled a variety of positions including membership chair , resigned for personal reasons . I will fill his spot for the remaining oneyear term .
New board members elected to threeyear terms are Tim Bonino , Gene Harp , Richard McLeod and Bill Stout .
Holes-in-one
Speaking of holes-in-one , we had two more last month — bringing the season total to four for the year . Hole-in-one winners share a cash prize equally at the end of the year , which is Oct . 31 .
Alan Southwell , our 93-year-old veteran player , had his fourth hole-in-one on Sept . 9 on Red 2 . This is the second holein-one for him on this hole with the first time being several years ago when he was playing with Bob Westgate .
Ford Morishita scored a hole-in-one on Sept . 17 on Green 2 . This was Ford ’ s third career hole-in-one , but his first in Charbonneau . Interestingly he didn ’ t see the
