GIRLS SOFTBALL
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
“
She’s a great kid, she’s involved
in a lot of things
in school. She’s a primary
softball player and puts in
year-round work in softball
and it really shows.
She’s one kid that has
been varsity on all four
years, and from her sophomore
to junior level up
she’s really matured into
one of our team leaders.

EMILY BANKER
FULTON HIGH SCHOOL
SENIOR
Fulton’s Emily Banker
rounds out the list. Banker
was one of two Steamers
to make the Illinois Class
2A All-State list, batting
.431 in her junior season.
Banker runs the outfield
and dominates the plate
with hard hitting homers
regularly. She can play
every position in the
outfield and hosts a sense
for tracking the ball that’s
not always honed in at
the high school level.
“She has a heck of a
canon and that’s one of
the reasons we put her
out there.,” Fulton head
coach Jessie Rosenow
said. “She’s very vocal in
that aspect which made
her stand out.“
Although Banker plays
volleyball, too, softball is
her main sport. She works
year round with weekly
batting cage visits and
workouts along with travel
league play that helped
her set herself apart.
“ She does weekly hitting
throughout the year and
that really sets Emily
apart in the batter’s box,”
Rosenow said.
She is continuing her softball
career at St. Ambrose
University.
