GIRLS TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

GIRLS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR NOMINEES

DELILAH SUBSIN
Ottumwa
Subsin not only claimed her second straight Class 4A state championship in the girls discus throw, but did so in record-breaking fashion. Subsin reached 158 feet and eight inches with her final throw of the competition back in May, breaking the Class 4A girls state meet record while producing the 15th-best throw in the entire country. The throw cleared Subsin’ s throw of 156-9 that clinched the Drake Relays title one month earlier. Subsin added a silver medal in the 4A girls shot put one day after making state meet history, reaching 43-2.5 finishing second to Burlington’ s Kylee Hill.
