Pella
Mullens reset the record book for the Pella sprints this season. He took second in the 400 at state with a new school record time of 48.49. Mullens then anchored Pella’ s sprint medley to a third place finish at 1:31.98. He raced to fifth in the 100 at 10.76 and secured fifth for the Dutch in the 4x400 with his anchor leg coming across the line at 3:22.80.

One season after making it to and winning a state title in one event, Zillman showcased his versatility as an athlete this past season qualifying for state in two different events. The Fairfield junior medaled in both, finishing in a tie for second in the 3A boys high jump narrowly missing out on defending his title in the event clearing 6-3 along with Trojan teammate Ryan Giberson before finishing seventh one day later in the boys long jump reaching 21 feet and 9.25 inches.

Dunham was a part of an impressive big three distance runners at the oval this year as he went to battle several times against Western Dubuque star Quentin Nauman and Des Moines Christian’ s Caleb Ten Pas. Dunham picked up a state title in the 4x800 with an impressive anchor leg that saw him erase a four-second deficit to post a new school record time of 7:53.08, which also bested their season best time by 16 seconds. Dunham also picked up second in the 3200( 9:06.76), third in the 800 with a new school record time of 1:52.16 and third in the 1600 at 4:11.99.
