Chuck Seavy Master Clubfitter
Take a look into one of the most advanced golf tech tools that we use at GGGA : The Trackman .
For this breakdown we ’ re going to use World ’ s Number One Lydia Ko when she was here training with Gary recently . Let ’ s take a look at her swing with a driver .

KEY ELEMENTS

94.8 CLUB SPEED
This helps determine what flex a player should have in their driver . For example :
60mph - Lady FleX 75mph - Senior Flex 85mph - Regular Flex 95mph - Stiff Flex 110 - Xstiff Flex
1.3 ATTACK ANGLE
Positive numbers mean the golfer is hitting up on the ball , negative means the golfer is hitting down at impact . The average on the PGA Tour is -1 , on the LPGA Tour it is + 3 . Hitting down on the ball usually creates more spin which usually leads to less distance .
2855 SPIN RATE
The back spin on the golf ball . The higher the number the higher & shorter the shot travels . For most golfers , we want to be between 2000rpms and 3000rpms .
3.6 CLUB PATH
The direction the club head is on compared to the target line . A positive number means the club is moving from the inside , a negative number means the club is moving from the outside of the target line .
1.49 SMASH FACTOR
How efficient the golfer is at impact with all of these numbers and the center of the face . 1.49 to 1.50 is optimum and puts the most energy back into the golf ball at impact .
We use these numbers to help determine what are the best club heads , shafts and settings for a driver .
&
0.4 FACE ANGLE
Face Angle : The angle of the club face at impact compared to the target line . (+ face open , - face closed ). The face angle and the club path combine to determine the spin and direction of the ball .
