Mauritius is a popular honeymoon destination. It is a small Island 17 x 25 square miles in the Indian Ocean, and has a flight time of around 12 hours from the UK, and the one good point is that it is only a 3-4 hour time difference (depending on British Summer Time) to ours to you’re not likely to suffer from any jet lag.

Mauritius is a year round destination with the peak and best time to visit between October and April.

As a honeymoon destination you can have it as relaxing or energetic as you want. There are some lovely beaches to chill out on, or you can try the large number of water sports available, before finishing off with a pampering session in the hotel spas.

Mauritius is also popular for a wedding abroad, and for the invited guests they can make it into a holiday for themselves.

The legal requirements for a standard wedding are:

1. Hold a 10 year British Passport

2. Have the Original birth Certificate

3. Have the Original document if divorced, widowed or adopted or change of name deed poll.

4. Stay a minimum of 3 days in the country prior to the Wedding

5. Have a minimum stay of 7 nights in resort

6. Documents are required for verification 8 weeks before the wedding.
