Background : We are a nonprofit Christian housing ministry incorporated in 1987 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International . Montgomery Habitat for Humanity builds simple and affordable homes in partnership with those in need of decent housing . Our mission is driven by the stark reality that thousands of Montgomery residents live in dangerous , unhealthy housing . For Habitat for Humanity partner families , our self-help housing program is a beacon of hope .
