Quincy P . Minor , KAM Technologies , was recently named to the National Small Business Association ( NSBA ) Leadership Council . NSBA is the nation ’ s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis . Minor , a recognized leader in the small-business community , joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the country as they work to promote the interests of small businesses to policymakers in Washington , D . C .
INGRAM STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE RECEIVES CDL AND FORKLIFT SIMULATORS TO ENHANCE WORKFORCE TRAINING
J . F . Ingram State Technical College ( ISTC ) received 10 state-of-the-art driving and forklift simulators , courtesy of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs ( ADECA ). ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell presented the simulators to ISTC staff . The simulators were originally acquired through an Appalachian Regional Commission grant in 2023 to support a driving academy program in North Alabama , but returned to ADECA in 2024 . ADECA identified ISTC to repurpose the equipment , allowing it to continue serving Alabamians in high-demand fields .
CITY OF MONTGOMERY RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL REPORTING
The City of Montgomery has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting , issued by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada ( GFOA ), for its annual comprehensive financial report for Fiscal Year ended September 30 , 2023 . The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting .

Giving is in the air with a historic $ 261 million fundraising year at The University of Alabama as part of the $ 1.8 billion Rising Tide 2.0 Capital Campaign . But impressive giving is not limited to the university at large . Donor generosity to Culverhouse has defied all expectations this year , with 1,578 donors making gifts adding up to over $ 33 million .
