Four Star HR Director Graduates From ATD Academy
Suzy Herring , who currently serves as the Human Resources Director for Four Star Freightliner , graduated on December 16 from the American Truck Dealers ( ATD ) Academy held in Washington , DC . ATD Academy is designed for future operators of truck dealerships and provides the fundamentals needed to operate a successful and profitable business . Herring traveled to classes over the course of a year . She was able to learn best practices from each truck company represented at the Dealer Academy .

Starke Agency announced the hiring of Don Cook for the position of Risk Consultant . In this new capacity , Cook will be focusing on commercial risk management and brings with him niche specialties in the hospitality , food service , and convenience store industries . Before joining the Starke Agency , Cook began his insurance career in 1969 as an Alabama Farm Bureau adjuster . From there , he has gained knowledge and experience in several roles including claims manager , marketing representative , as well as the owner of general and retail agencies . Don has a bachelor ’ s degree from TROY , and two years of law school from Jones School of Law . Don has been a licensed agent in multiple states since 1979 . |
Alabama Power Names Jeff Peoples CEO
The Alabama Power Company board of directors named Jeff Peoples as the 12th president and CEO of the company , effective immediately . Peoples also joins the board of directors as chairman . Peoples succeeds Mark Crosswhite , who retired after eight years as the company ’ s leader . Most recently , Peoples served as Alabama Power ’ s executive vice president of Customer and Employee Services , overseeing customer services , marketing and economic development strategy and operations , as well as the company ’ s six geographic business divisions . In addition , he was responsible for the company ’ s labor relations , human resources , safety , wellness , health and disability management functions .

Faulkner University Announces Two Promotions
Faulkner University announced the promotions of two individuals to key roles in the university ’ s leadership in the new year . Kasey Oakley was promoted to Chief Information Officer on January 1 and is responsible for the coordination of the information technology functions across the university . Patrick Gregory was promoted to his new role as Chief Marketing Officer on January 1 in order to efficiently oversee all marketing efforts of the university .
