MONTGOMERY BALLET ANNOUNCES FIRST PERMANENT HOME AFTER NEARLY 70 YEARS

After nearly seven decades of serving as a cornerstone of the arts in Central Alabama, the Montgomery Ballet has secured a permanent home. The company will soon relocate to the former Dixie Cleaners building on Coliseum Boulevard, marking a historic moment not only for the organization but for the entire River Region arts community.

MONTGOMERY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD FROM AUM

The City of Montgomery’ s Department of Economic and Community Development was recently announced as the recipient of Auburn University at Montgomery’ s( AUM) Community Partner Award. The award recognizes the department’ s sustained collaboration and impact through the Shady Street Park Project. Senior Development Manager Lois Cortell accepted the award, with remarks delivered by AUM Provost Dr. Mrinal M. Varma during the university’ s Celebration of Research, Creative Activity and Community Engagement. work on 17 Springs, a new destination for recreation, entertainment and retail in Millbrook.
The Equal Justice Initiative( EJI) has opened Hero, a new restaurant, in downtown Montgomery. EJI has invested in building a space close to the Legacy Museum and Legacy Plaza to create more eatery options for people in downtown Montgomery. Pihakis Restaurant Group brought their popular Birmingham restaurant Hero and a second location of Little Donkey. The eateries are located at 350 and 378 N Perry Street.

THE PIKE ROAD PATRIOT FUND HOSTS ITS 13TH ANNUAL C SPIRE PIKE ROAD PATRIOT CRAWFISH BOIL

The 13th Annual C Spire Pike Road Patriot Crawfish Boil drew families from across the area to support Pike Road Schools’ arts and athletics programs. Hosted by the Pike Road Patriot Fund, the event featured 7,000 pounds of crawfish, live music, kid-friendly food options and a festive, family-friendly atmosphere. Thanks to generous sponsors like C Spire, the beloved tradition continues to unite the community around a shared commitment to local students.
