Speech And Debate

Seven Dowling Catholic Speech Team members qualified for the
National Speech and Debate Tournament to be held in Kansas City, June
15-20. Nearly 5,000 students, coaches and parents from across the
country participate. To qualify, students must place among the top
competitors at one of 110 District Tournaments. The Speech and Debate
team also placed second at the recent State Tournament.

The Dowling Catholic Girl’s Basketball team
won the State Championship in a 66-55 win
over Southeast Polk. Congratulations to
Audrey Faber, named All Tournament Team
and Becca Hittner, named Captain of the All Tournament
Team. Coaches Bob and Sharon Hanson are the only coaches
in tournament history to win six state titles in four decades!
