Linda M. Duncum is a retired Emergency
Room nurse who came to Alpine in 1999 after
retiring from the Texas National Guard. She
spends her days studying literature, taking care
of her animals and enjoying her friends and
family in her beautiful mountain home.

Jim Glendinning, an Oxford-educated Scot,
lives in Alpine. The story of his travels, Footloose
Scot, has just been published as has Legendary
Locals of the Big Bend & Davis Mountains for

Richard Mark Glover is a freelance writer
splitting his time between Far West Texas
and the Dominican Republic. His reporting has
appeared in Ke Ola Magazine and the Big
Bend Sentinel and his fiction credits include the
Oyster Boy Review and 4'33" Magazine.

Susan Pittman, a retired literature and art
history teacher, is a resident of Fort Davis and
Grapevine. She is a longtime aficionado of
Tom Lea and of the Tom Lea Institute whose
October events bring deserved attention to this

Larry D. Thomas is a member of the Texas
Institute of Letters, was privileged to serve as the
2008 Texas Poet Laureate. He has published
several award-winning collections of poetry.
His Larry D. Thomas: New and Selected Poems (TCU

Rachael Waller holds a B.F.A. and Masters
of Fine Art in film from the California Institute
of the Arts, where she studied with distin-
guished mentors of light & cinematography.

Wendy Lynn Wright is an artist, musician,
graphic designer and teaches art at Marfa
Elementary and Marfa International School.

Carolyn Brown Zniewski is a food writer
and recipe columnist for ten years with several
Minneapolis, MN neighborhood newspapers.
She currently lives in Marathon, TX much of

Maya Zniewski is an herbalist and soapmak-
er who enjoys frequent visits to the Big Bend
area. Her handmade salves, soaps and tinctures
