I ’ ve not even had to think twice about why I want to be involved in your research . I ’ ve spent my whole life being ill , I ’ ve been stoic , but over the years I ’ ve been less and less strong . Now I ’ m destroyed , my body and sometimes it feels like my soul too .
It ’ s my desire to keep going , to stay alive . This attitude has helped me forge ahead and not give up . I ’ m an overachiever , I ’ ve fought for everything . Sometimes I don ’ t want others to go through what I have been through . Other times I want people to know what I ’ ve gone through , I want them to know how medically painful my life has been .
I want the nhs to help make patients lives easier , to be able to assess their bodies better , quicker and mitigate their pain .
If there are any of my experiences I can give to help , it will help me believe that it ’ s all been worthwhile .
