Baylor Merges with Scott & White

In 2011 , the Foundation hosted the first annual Beyond the Bag fundraising event to raise funds for the non-medical cancer support services provided by the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center . The annual celebratory event encompasses dinner , live entertainment and high-caliber auction items in both silent and live auctions . Over the past 12 years , Beyond the Bag has raised more than $ 2.9 million to ensure that no one must face cancer alone .
In 2015 , Baylor Scott & White became the largest non-profit healthcare system in Texas and one of the largest in the country when the two healthcare systems merged . Our hospital was renamed Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth . In 2018 , the Foundation began doing business as the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation . Today , Baylor Scott & White Health operates 48 hospitals and more than 900 patient care sites in North and Central Texas .

Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center

Recognizing that navigation services can benefit a person with any cancer diagnosis , the Joan Katz Breast Center was renamed the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center in 2017 . With the addition of a general cancer nurse navigator , the name change reflects the commitment to patients , regardless of

21 where they are receiving their cancer treatment . Since the Center opened in 2010 , over 12,000 individuals have received services .

Child Life Program

Unique to an adult hospital , Child Life Specialists serve the emotional needs of the children and grandchildren of adult patients facing serious , life-limiting illnesses or near the end of life . In 2013 , Baylor Scott & White All Saints welcomed its first Child Life specialist , who works with hundreds of children and families annually . These services are free to families , and this vital program is funded in full through generous philanthropic support from our community .

Emergency Department

Designed to help meet the needs of the growing community , a new Emergency Department was opened in August 2017 . The ED receives , on average , 40,000 visits per year . The new space includes four triage rooms to improve patient flow , private exam rooms and two trauma rooms . Also included are two point-of-care labs , an imaging area and convenient ambulance parking . Philanthropy accounted for over $ 12 million of the construction costs .
