Meeting with the Mayor of Limerick to discuss the Lebanese Film Festival shelling in East Sidon and went through to groves to Beirut, experiencing in the process all sorts of fears and the trauma. The SOS children were already disadvantaged orphans and the war frankly did not help. So the project allowed them to have three weeks of a professionally designed program to deal with trauma. The follow-up trip took place in December last year that concluded the study on the effects of the program five years on. The City was preparing to uphold its European title of City of Culture 2014, and a variety of activities were mulled by a committee of advisors, among which was a Lebanese cultural event. We enjoy strong support from the City Councillors and thought we could contribute with a Lebanese Film Festival, or more. So I guess it is part of our upcoming projects. What other projects do you plan in future for the Earlier this year you met with the Mayor of Limerick, Mr Gerry McLoughlin, to discuss making arrangements for a Lebanese film festival in the city. What do you hope to achieve by establishing this festival? This year we highlight the work of a traveller who in 1738 documented his journey through the Middle East, and contributed a good description of Lebanon.
