When I think of “Carpe Diem” or to “Seize the Day,”
this is what I envision:
Carpe Diem
All my life I’ve waited for this precious moment.
In front the audience I see my proud parents.
In my cap and gown, I accept my PhD.
Diligence and determination all paid off!
There’s wild applause, shouts, and cheers from the audience
Tears roll down as I recite my victory speech.
At the end of it all, what will I recall?
You only live one life; mind, body and soul.
I’m taking control of my life—my plans; my goals.
The future begins now, yet seems so far away.
It’s all part of my big dream when I seize the day.
Many sacrifices are made throughout my life
I’m climbing up the ladder of success each day.
I believe that I can make a difference in the world.
It’s my desire to bless others through God’s work.
Providing a cure for little cancer fighters
It’s an important project we must not delay.
A paediatric neurosurgeon is my dream,
At St. Jude Hospital as part of a great team.
At the end of it all, what will I recall?
You only live one life, so try giving it your all.
I am fashioning my life after God’s own way.
It’s all part of my big dream when I seize the day.
