CHISD is an open enrollment district. Students who live outside its
boundaries may apply and are accepted throughout the year.
How to Enroll Middle School Academies
Go to chisd.net/register. Click New to District if
the student has never attended CHISD.
Follow the steps. In August the district opened the Bessie
Coleman Middle School Environmental Science
& Engineering Academy and the W.S. Permenter
Middle School Entrepreneurship & Design
Academy. Students are enrolled based on their
interest level and at the principal’s discretion. An
application and other details will be posted on the
district website in January.
If the student has attended a Cedar Hill ISD
school in the past, click Returning Student and
follow the directions. For example, a fourth-grader
who attended CHISD, left to attend another
district for fifth grade and wants to return to
CHISD for sixth grade is a returning student.
Collegiate Pathway
The CHISD Collegiate Pathway begins in Pre-K
and ends with an associate degree. Collegiate
Prep Elementary, Collegiate Academy Middle
School and Collegiate High School accept
students through a lottery. Students who graduate
Collegiate High School may simultaneously earn
a high school diploma and associate degree at
no cost to the family. In January the district posts
