Choir September The Cedar Hill High School Choir Solo Vocal Adjudication Festival drew 131 CHHS choir contestants, and 31 received the highest marks available from the judges. October Students participated in a master class with a University of North Texas professor. Three students were deemed college ready, and four students were recognized as having the potential for success as a vocal performance major at UNT. The students and their recognitions: College Ready Ji’Tajiah Carter Jada Matthews Alesa Mitchell Potential as Vocal Performance Major Manassah Cooper Maria Villa Jeremiah Tarver Simeon Williams November Senior Maria Villa participated in the Texas Music Educators Association Region XX Choir, and juniors Ji’Zai Watson and Simeon Williams sang in the TMEA Region XX District Choir. Dance/Highsteppers Highstepper captain Koi Webster represented CHHS at the Texas Dance Educators Association Convention in Houston as an all-state dancer. Orchestra Six Cedar Hill High School Symphonic Orchestra students earned a spot to perform at the All Region Orchestra concert held in Irving in November: Roman Jessie Preston Walker David Osunde David Israel Ireland Maher Raena Jenkins Theatre In November, CHHS Theatre Arts had its best-ever showing at the Texas State Thespian Festival, attended by approximately 8,000 theatre students and directors. Students competed in individual events and technical theatre challenges.
