Art
Students have completed projects throughout the district. At Cedar Hill High School, students designed
two murals and a Dr. Seuss painting in the library. Additionally, students created posters for a special
event at Waterford Oaks and made 100 spiral mini-sculptures for the STEAM Extravaganza. Look for future
installations in the front lobby and CHHS counselors’ hallway.
Band
October
The Cedar Hill Longhorn Red Army Band won the Lancaster Xtreme Battle of the Bands, plus the color
guard took second place in its division. The win earned the band the honor of playing in the pregame
performance during the State Fair Classic football game at the Cotton Bowl between Prairie View A&M
University and Grambling State University.
The band also received a rating of excellent, the highest mark given, in the Region XX UIL Marching
Contest.
November
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff band directors visited CHHS to audition seniors. Congratulations to the
students who received a band scholarship to cover tuition and out-of-state fees:
