Physician Assistan Celebrates PA W
The Physician Assistant ( PA ) Program celebrated PA Week 2022 by hosting a Blood Drive and potluck , broadc community , holding elections , and culminating the week in PA Fun Day .
“ The purpose of this week is to bring special recognition to the PA profession and its contributions to the nati “ PAs are vital members of the medical workforce , as they practice in every healthcare setting , from hospita clinics , often serving as a patient ’ s primary care provider .”
The blood drive and potluck was organized by the Social Justice Society ( SJS ) in collaboration with the Amer dozens of volunteers and blood donors , with a final tally of 35 pints of blood being donated – translating to their original goal of donating 25 pints of blood .
“ The idea to start hosting biannual blood drives at CDU came about from Social Justice Society Club memb the nation and to honor Dr . Charles R . Drew , the father of blood banking ,” said Jacqueline Simon , SJS Co-V more special by also hosting a potluck that displayed the diverse cultures within our CDU community .”
The PA Program broadcasted a PA Week Proclamation to be shared with the CDU community . “ We , the CDU throughout Charles R . Drew University of Medicine and Science and encourage all of our residents to reco and continue to make in healthcare as a critical part of the healthcare team ,” said the Proclamation .
PA Week at CDU culminated with elections and PA Fun Day . All three PA cohorts were on campus at the sa executed by PA students .
The Social Justice Society elected Alexandra Loakes , PAS-2 and Jacqueline Simon , PAS-2 as co-presidents , K as co-vice presidents among other elected officials . Their terms start December 1 , 2022 .
Students played soccer , badminton , basketball , and volleyball . This year they added an inflatable obstacle competitions between faculty , staff , and students . They also invited a caricature artist to draw portraits and
