First Year Experience Students Present Life Maps
First Year Experience students displayed their life design maps in a moving presentation to the CDU campus community .
The maps reflected each student ’ s goals , dreams , and plans for success .
In doing so , their energy , commitment , and resolve to overcome difficult challenges was also demonstrated .
This is the second cohort of the course and it ’ s proven to be impactful for new students as they adjust to the demands of college .
“ It felt like a therapy session for me ,” said Darline Darko , Pre- Nursing Program student . “ They give us direction , different ways to perceive things , and they ’ ve encouraged me throughout the whole semester .”
First Year Experience supports new CDU undergraduate students as they begin their college journey .
It centers on self-determination , self-care , community , uplifting one another , leaning on our support systems , and incorporating friends , faculty , and staff as part of a support network .
