CDU Kicks Off Holidays with Dessert Reception
The University continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer with the annual Thanksgiving Dessert Reception , creating a sweet and festive atmosphere in the Cobb Building lobby for all staff , faculty , and students .
Jackie Brown , Director of University Events , expressed the importance of coming together to celebrate and appreciate the contributions each member of the CDU community makes to fulfill the university ’ s mission .
“ In a year filled with challenges and triumphs , taking a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the unique gifts we bring to the table is crucial ,” said Brown . “ It ’ s an opportunity to build connections and foster a sense of gratitude within our campus community .”
The tables were adorned with a tempting array of desserts , ranging from cakes and pies to cookies and pastries .
Attendees enjoyed the delectable treats at the event and had an opportunity to reflect on the year and what makes a unique experience for all .
The day also included a dessert raffle . Five lucky attendees walked
away with surprise specialty desserts , adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities .
As the holiday season kicks off , the Thanksgiving Dessert Reception remains a cherished tradition at CDU , fostering a sense of gratitude and unity among students , faculty , and staff .
The event serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together , celebrating accomplishments , and expressing gratitude for the diverse talents and contributions that make the university community thrive .
