Doctor of Nursing Practice Students and Faculty Visit Conference in Tampa
CDU students and faculty in the Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) program participated in the 2022 National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference in Tampa , Florida .
“ It was an excellent conference , networking with DNP students and faculty across the nation ,” shared Dr . Ferrerosa , DNP Program Director and Assistant Professor at CDU .
The DNP Program is new to CDU and participation in the conference provided an opportunity to help increase visibility of the Mervyn M . Dymally DNP program development of doctoral culture at the University and mentorship / guidance on DNP project preparation .
The event was held by Doctors of Nursing Practice , Inc ., a non-profit charity corporation formed by a group of advanced practice nurses to enhance the profession , support DNP program development , and improve healthcare outcomes .
CDU also served as a Bronze Sponsor for the event and had an exhibitor booth . The display booth allowed for CDU leaders to engage with fellow DNP leaders and educators and conduct staff and faculty recruitment through sharing more about the University .
The theme for the 15th gathering was “ Collaborating to Improve Healthcare Outcomes .” The conference ’ s objectives were for participants to leave the event with the ability to identify best practice processes to collaborate both with nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals to improve healthcare outcomes and to locate resources and experts to support intra and inter professional collaboration . There was also a goal for participants to be able to articulate collaboration strategies in the context of a maturing DNP professional dynamic complimenting how clinical , administrative , policy , and informatics specialists improve outcomes together .
The First National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference took place in 2008 . Held in Memphis , Tennessee , the theme of the event was Transforming Care Through Scholarly Practice . This year ’ s event marked the fifteenth anniversary of the gathering for the organization and DNP community .
