CDU Community Meets COSH Dean Finalists
The CDU Community met with finalists for the College of Science and Health ( COSH ) Dean position . CDU has narrowed the search down to four candidates , hosting special events and campus-wide presentations revolving around “ Leadership and Vision for the future of the College of Science & Health at CDU .”
Each day contained a range of activities for each candidate including meetings with students , COSH Faculty and Staff , Provost Dr . Sylvia Manning , the Search Committee , and a campus tour .
Candidate Dr . Grace Reynolds-Fisher currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Research at the California State University , Long Beach ( CSULB ). She ’ s published over 80 peerreviewed articles and almost 200 abstracts and conference presentations on various research topics , including HIV , hepatitis , and sexually transmitted disease testing with health disparities populations .
Candidate Dr . Jaideep Chaudhary is a Professor and Dean , School of Arts and Sciences and member of the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutics Development at Clark Atlanta University . His research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of prostate cancer and health disparities , and has obtained his research funding from National Institutes of Health , Department of Defense , National Science Foundation and American Cancer Society .
Candidate Dr . Gail Orum-Alexander is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the KGI School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences . Her research is focused on geriatric population issues with polypharmacy , medication non-adherence , and optimizing health outcomes in the management of chronic conditions in medically underserved populations .
Candidate Dr . Monica Ferrini is the Interim Dean for the CDU COSH and an Associate professor and Chair of the Department of Health and Life Sciences . In addition , she is the director of the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at CDU . Dr . Ferrini is a well-known researcher in the field of Neuroendocrinology and Urology .
