Monika Scherer is the Program Manager for Health Policy and Health Services Research in the College of Medicine and Health Policy Pillar of the Urban Health Institute at Charles R . Drew University of Medicine and Science ( CDU ). Monika supports University wide COVID-19 mobile vaccine and education efforts , health advocate student internship program , Latinx and faith-based community outreach , and research projects to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities in care with community partners . She is a Certified Health Education Specialist , AHEC Community Health Scholar , and current International Grantsmanship Fellow . As a life-long resident of Los Angeles , Monika is committed to serving the community to move forward with innovation , health services , and promote higher education opportunities .
