CDU Launches Virtual Campus Tour
The Office of Admissions launched the CDU Campus Virtual Tour on the University website . The virtual tour is inclusive of an interactive map of the campus , with commentary from students and introduction videos from members of the senior leadership team .
“ At CDU , students will become the very best health professionals while receiving the best education , training and experiences that also prepare them to become leaders who are dedicated to transforming the world of medicine – following in the footsteps of Dr . Charles R . Drew ,” shared CDU Student Mercedes Humski in one of the tour stops .
CDU students provide scripted content at 20 different stops across the virtual campus tour . Points of interest include the main buildings , the student center , research centers and even the Martin Luther King , Jr . mural .
“ Prospective students who visit the site will be able to connect with the campus anywhere in the world ,” said Vanessa Riggins , Director of Admissions . “ The virtual tour and interactive map can be used in many ways to market to students throughout the enrollment funnel .”
Admissions Department Deploys Chatbot
To support the CDU strategic plan , the Office of Admissions applied various strategies to enhance the University ’ s ability to communicate with prospective students in a consistent and timely manner .
One such step was the implementation of a Drift Chatbot on the CDU website , which is a cloud-based live chat , in-app messaging , and email management solution . Drift offers customizable live chat widgets , email follow-ups for abandoned chats , conversation histories , email campaign automation , and an AI-powered chatbot .
“ CDU website visitors are our most engaged prospective students ,” said Vanessa Riggins , Director of Admissions . “ Instead of asking these potential future Mighty Lions to fill out a form and wait for a follow up , with the Drift Chabot CDU can have personalized conversations with them in real time so we can engage , qualify , and move them into the admissions pipeline right away – day or night .”
The Drift platform was implemented in March 2022 , when the bot was added to the Admissions home and sub pages . The bot had nearly two thousand conversations with site visitors in its first 12 months , with each one averaging about 14 minutes .
