Activities & Accomplishments :

• Held 6th annual Student-Athlete welcome back event where we distributed the t-shirt of the year with the theme , # BeReady .

• Student-athletes attended educational workshops including :

• Dr . Derek Greenfield , “ Confronting Ourselves : Promoting Diversity , Cultural Competence , and Inclusive Excellence ”

• Don McPherson , “ You Throw Like a Girl ”: Discussion on language , gender and violence . The presentation focused on nurturing positive language and understanding of masculine identity .

• All freshmen and transfers attended a presentation by Interval House on domestic violence and healthy relationships .

• Partnered with the Ana Grace Project to promote love , community and connection for every child and family . Collaborated with Fleet Feet to help with this mission and hosted students from Chamberlain Elementary School . CCSU student-athletes distributed sneakers and CCSU water bottles to 5th graders during a day of fun and exercise .

• Men ’ s / Women ’ s Soccer participated in “ Read Across America ” Day at Gaffney Elementary School in New Britain

• Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Initiatives :

• Smalley Academy Visitation - Helping the local community through education .

• Boys & Girls Club of New Britain Visitation - Helping the local community through recreation .

• Charity Dodgeball Tournament - Fundraiser for Alex ’ s Lemonade Stand Foundation

• Fresh-Check Day Volunteers - Engaging the campus community in mental health awareness and advocacy .

• New Britain Soup Kitchen Volunteers - Helping all find a hot meal and a home in New Britain , CT

• Northeast Conference “ Penny Wars ” - Fundraising for Children ’ s Cancer Recovery Foundation .
