Blue Devil Senior Reflections

“ My overall Blue Devil Athletic Experience is one that I wish could be repeated. Never before have I felt like a part of such a close-knit family environment amongst a group of athletes. The athletics and training staff is second to none, teaching me the value of hard work, team work and above all perseverance. Going forward I believe that being a part of CCSU athletics has taught me valuable life lessons of what it means to be not only a man, but an athlete and a scholar while being an active and contributing member of the community. As the next phase of my life begins after graduation, I’ ll use the lessons taught to me by the Blue Devils Athletics program in order to further my career as a young professional and make a difference in whatever community I may found myself in. I’ m a Blue Devil for life and thanks to CCSU that’ s always going to hold true.”

“ My Blue Devil athletics experience over the past four years has helped me tremendously towards enhancing my personal development. Time management, organizational skills, and overall dedication have been by far the most important traits I have acquired during my short time here, at CCSU. I believe my experience will help down the road by being able to work in team environments, overcome adversity in times of stress, and more importantly, keep getting better and better everyday in whatever career I choose- the same discipline I put toward golf and academics at CCSU.”

“ Being a Blue Devil has taught me how to be a strong individual and a supportive team member. I learned how to enjoy the thrill of immense pressure and deal with any obstacles that may get in my way. It is important to exude confidence in order to perform at the top level and in turn, success will come. I have a new found respect for all of my fellow athletes and I will forever be a pride-filled Blue Devil.”

“ My experience as a Blue Devil has taught me first and foremost that if you put everything you have towards a goal, you can go farther than you ever thought possible. I came in as a freshman with fairly conservative goals and through hard work and encouragement of my teammates and coaches, was able to go farther than I ever thought possible. Concurrently I also learned how to deal with setbacks. Things in sports won’ t always go your way, and a random injury may pop up at any time to ruin a season. This serves as a great parallel for life in general. How you deal with a setback determines the outcome. Situations in life don’ t control you, you control them. Going forward this mentality gives me the confidence to pursue my dreams for my career and life in general. I leave here with a network of people who will have my back no matter what, and who can count on me to do the same. My Blue Devil experience has been invaluable and will continue to shape my life for years to come.”
