Blue Devil Senior Reflections

“ Becoming a Blue Devil was an experience that has molded me into the individual I am today. Being an international student I had no idea what the future held for me when agreeing to attend CCSU, however, I can now say with confidence that it was hands down the best decision of my life. Not only have the students and faculty helped me attain my degree, they have guided, helped, and welcomed me into the biggest and most supportive family I have ever been part of. With the student-athlete experience comes pressure to grow up, and mature, at a rate that sometimes may become overwhelming. The road isn’ t always smooth, but I promise you that the Blue Devil family surrounding you will push your through any struggles, they will be your rock to lean on, and you will be successful. The person I am, the attributes I hold, and the maturity level I now display on a daily basis in the‘ real world’ are all due to the positive involvement that every single individual in the athletic community held in my life. Whether it be a freshman, or senior reading this, you should all know that you will be a better person when you leave CCSU than when you first attended. You will hold yourself to a high standard because of the morals CCSU instills in you as a person. Whether it be 4 years from now or 6 months from now, you will hold the skills, attitude, passion, and pride, to take your next step knowing that you are as prepared as you can possibly be and most importantly you will be ready! I can’ t begin to express the love and thanks that I have for everyone who has been a part of my life in the CCSU athletic community. I truly hope that once graduation arrives you can all be as proud as I am to say I was, and still am, a Blue Devil!”

“ My experience as a Blue Devil is something that I wouldn’ t give up for the world. I have had the privilege to meet amazing people who I can now call family that I wouldn’ t have had the chance to otherwise. At CCSU, I was able to accomplish many things on the track but more importantly discovered my purpose in life. Without my experience here at Central I don’ t believe I would have found that purpose. The mind-set I have moving forward with my athletic experience is that, there is no end to the possibilities you can create for yourself with hard work and determination.”
Jamal Fruster Men’ s Track & Field East Hartford, CT
“ Being a Blue Devil means more than just being a college athlete. Along with being a Blue Devil comes being part of a family and endless support. I have been pushed in my last four years more than ever before and I have learned so much from my experience. Although I’ m moving into the next chapter of my life I will always have my Blue Devil family and will always be so grateful for my experience at CCSU and how it has changed me not only as an athlete but as a person.”
