Tips for Getting the Most Out of Social Media

Dear entrepreneur,

I admire you—for turning an idea, a dream, into your full-time profession. Starting your own business takes gumption that not all people possess. You provide innovation, jobs and community balance we so need in this country.

As a daughter of an entrepreneur and a small business advocate myself, I know all too well the uphill battle you face at your kitchen table turned nighttime corporate office. And I’ll be the first to admit the social media sphere is a challenge that doesn’t seem to stop changing.

The noise you want to create for your business via social media walks a fine line between buzz and static. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Jeff Blettner, Conversion Optimization Specialist at Formstack, a growing online form platform in Indianapolis. From that insightful conversation, here are three simple pieces of advice for any small business trying to find their place in the world of social media.
