SLIP RESISTANCE
STANDARD REQUIREMENT: ISO / DIS 20345 / 6 / 7:2020
OBLIGATORY CONDITION: OPTIONAL CONDITION( SR):
Determination of slip resistance on ceramic tile with water and detergent( sodium lauryl sulphate).
• Footwear inclined towards the heel( condition A): minimum requirement ≥ 0,31
• Footwear inclined towards the toe( condition B): minimum requirement ≥ 0,36
Determination of ceramic tile slip resistance with glycerine( SR requirement).
• Footwear inclined towards the heel( condition C): minimum requirement ≥ 0,19
• Footwear inclined towards the toe( condition D): minimum requirement ≥ 0,22
The yellow symbol distinguishes ESD footwear from others.
ESD marked footwear is distinguished from normal safety shoes which only have the antistatic marking( A), because they are electrically dissipative, i. e. they constantly discharge the static electricity accumulated by the human body to the ground.
An antistatic shoe has an electrical resistance ranging from 100 kiloohms to 100 megohms, an ESD shoe will have a range from 100 kiloohms to 35 megohms; an ESD shoe is always antistatic, but an antistatic shoe may not fall into the ESD category.
NOTE:
Footwear certified according to EN ISO 20344:2011( test methods for protective footwear) and EN ISO 20345:2011( safety footwear, basic and additional requirements) may continue to be placed on the market until the natural expiry of the certificates because the new version of the technical standard, released in 2022, does not bring a significant increase in protection and / or a change in the state of the art.
