JVM Castings invests over £ 1 million at Tamworth site

The largest aluminium pressure diecasting manufacturer in the UK , Midlands-based JVM Castings has completed a major investment of more than £ 1 million at Tamworth , in a growth plan that will see the machining side of the site double in size by 2020 . The company has employed 10 extra staff across the engineering , management and machining departments and taken on two new apprentices , with a further two joining them over the coming months . Collectively , this represents a 35 % increase in staff at the Tamworth site in the last 12 months . Machinery investments include the installation of 10 additional spindles and the planned purchase of a large bed five axis machine over the coming months , while investments into environmentallyfriendly and sustainable processes have also been key . Until recently , the process of manufacturing diecastings produced aluminium waste chippings that are costly to dispose of and not environmentallyfriendly ; to solve this issue , JVM has purchased equipment to compress the waste and remelt it back into the manufacturing process , reducing waste to 0 % and minimising environmental impact . www . jvmcastings . com
