Clinical Vault – Puerto Rico’s
Most Powerful Health
Information Exchange

Clinical Vault provides

and decisions!
iven the recent push
in the healthcare industry for paperless
operations, digital records
and strict adherence to federal
regulations, NeoDeck Holdings recognized a local need
for a sophisticated platform
for sharing medical data in a
safe, secure, private and regulation-compliant manner. This
resulted in Clinical Vault —the
first fully functional health
information exchange (HIE)
system in Puerto Rico. Going
live in January 2013, it is already receiving thousands of
records each month, making
the information available to
various providers throughout
the island. This in turn allows
physicians, hospitals and other healthcare-related entities
to improve patient care and
its accuracy. Records stored
in the Clinical Vault exchange
system can also be used to
study trends, such as detecting
early outbreaks of influenza
and other illnesses.
Given the recent demand for
a local healthcare exchange,
along with the growing number of patients being added to
the system, NeoDeck’s highly
skilled medical and technical
experts continue to improve
the technology while expanding its capabilities and service
offerings. This includes the
exchange of laboratory orders
and test results through the
misResultados platform. It is
also working with various imaging centers to provide connectivity for imaging orders
and their results as well. Other
innovations include high-quality analytical reports to help
manage the local population’s
health on a larger scale. With
the success of Clinical Vault in
Puerto Rico, it is now also seeing a need for this kind of system in various Latin American
countries. Therefore, its next
step will be to take its technology abroad.
As healthcare standards
evolve, its ultimate goal will
be an integrated healthcare
system that allows patients to
go from one medical practice,
hospital, imaging center or
lab to another, with their information readily available to
all without duplicity or redundancy. This will ultimately improve how healthcare is delivered throughout Puerto Rico,
and some day, to other parts
of the world.
