Tamas Vegvari has been making and perfecting his recipes for boilies for many years in the states, and long before in his native country of Hungary. Cap- turing countless big carp over the years in many diverse waters, he has been very successful in the US carp tournament scene. Roland Olah has always been an avid carp angler. Starting in his native country of Hun- gary, and continuing over the last few years here in the states. Catch- ing good sized carp on a regular ba- sis and excited about chasing down even bigger fish. They struck up a friendship starting to fish togeth- er as often as they could. I started talking to Roland online in late 2013, and we finally had a chance to fish a session together at one of my swims in July 2014. The conditions weren’t ideal for recent heavy rainfall and floods making the fishing difficult. However, after an overnight session and within 8 hours of Tamas’s boilies being in the water, Roland caught his new PB a 31+ pound common. I had been regularly bait- ing with a variety of store-bought boilies but blanked that session. I was very happy for Roland capturing his first thirty and PB, and I was also very impressed with every aspect of Tamas’s boilies and knew he was making something extraordinary. Roland and I began fishing together every week for an overnight session throughout the summer. We had a blast and caught a bunch of great carp. In September 2014, Roland and I were invited to the home of Tamas to make one hundred pounds of boilies in several flavors for our fall fishing. We all had a great time, exchanged ideas and learned a lot that day about the boilie and big carp game. We were both very excited about getting out there and starting our fall season. I had at this point had my best season ever. Breaking both my mirror and common PB’s, along with capturing the most thirties I had ever caught in one year by the summer’s end. I had great faith in Tamas’s boilies but had no way of preparing myself for the incredible hot streak of hauling big fish that was to come. It far surpassed my greatest expectations.
