If you’re a sports car fan, Denmark might not be the first thing that comes to your mind when talking about the latest in supercar technology. The Northern European country might be more popular for tasty pastries and a minimalist design philosophy, but a newly created supercar brand might change that in a big way.
Founded in 2016 as a Danish competitor to the British based Lotus, Agile Automotive hopes to disrupt the market by releasing its first two creations, which are lightweight track-focused sports cars that seem to pose a clear challenge to Lotus’s Elise and Exige.
The challenger to Lotus Exige from Agile is called the SC122, which comes with an almost exclusive carbon fibre build. In fact, Agile claims the special carbon fibre construction in SC122 can rival anything seen in Formula 1.
The car comes with a rear mounted 3.5-litre supercharged V-6 engine that’s sourced from Toyota, a similarity it shares with the Exige. Apart from that, its engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed sequential transmission system that’ll delivers 425-hp of power.
Nevertheless, if you want better performance, then checkout the Agile SCX, the stripped-out roadster like competitor to the Lotus Elise. Powered by a 2.0-litre inline-4 cylinder engine, the car can deliver up to 250-hp with the help of a supercharger.
According to Agile, pricing for SCX and SC122 will start at around $73,230 and $117,150 respectively.
