JA BizTown Celebration

Crafton Elementary ' s 5th and 6th-grade students participated in JA BizTown , a program designed to foster financial literacy and work readiness . In the 13 weeks leading up to their visit , these students engaged in comprehensive preparation , delving into topics such as Financial Literacy , Community and Economy , Work and Career Readiness , and Business Management . To secure a position at JA BizTown , students underwent the process of completing job applications and participating in interviews . Notably , ten students took on the challenge of running for the position of Mayor at JA BizTown , involving the creation of campaign posters and the delivery of compelling speeches . The entire student body exercised their right to vote , selecting the Mayor democratically .
During their time at JA BizTown , the students exhibited a commendable level of dedication and seriousness in carrying out their assigned roles . This commitment yielded tangible results , as Crafton Elementary earned recognition as the second-best school in terms of repaying all their " Business Loans ," with the students successfully repaying a total of 11 loans . Throughout this enriching experience , the students showcased exceptional teamwork , leadership , and stewardship skills , creating lasting memories and imparting valuable lessons for all participants .
