Ingrid Jean-Baptiste
Founder Chelsea Film Festival
Jean-Baptiste moved to New York in 2010 to study acting and is a graduate of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Born in and raised Paris and London, after graduating from La Sorbonne University, she started a career in journalism. Jean- Baptiste also contributed to the production of social TV shows broadcasted on French national TV at France Televisions.
In 2013, she founded the Chelsea Film Festival, which is an international platform for emerging filmmakers. The Festival has presented 220 international selections from over 30 countries. Jean-Baptiste is an active advocate for human rights. She currently sits on the Board of Easter Seals, Young Minds for Gender Equality and Chelsea Film Institute. Jean-Baptiste has recently received the WOW Award for International Women’ s Empowerment and the Trophy of " French Citizens Abroad " at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris on March 7th, 2017.
