Ingrid Jean-Baptiste
Founder Chelsea Film Festival
Jean-Baptiste moved to New York in 2010 to study acting and is a graduate of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute . Born in and raised Paris and London , after graduating from La Sorbonne University , she started a career in journalism . Jean- Baptiste also contributed to the production of social TV shows broadcasted on French national TV at France Televisions .
In 2013 , she founded the Chelsea Film Festival , which is an international platform for emerging filmmakers . The Festival has presented 220 international selections from over 30 countries . Jean-Baptiste is an active advocate for human rights . She currently sits on the Board of Easter Seals , Young Minds for Gender Equality and Chelsea Film Institute . Jean-Baptiste has recently received the WOW Award for International Women ’ s Empowerment and the Trophy of " French Citizens Abroad " at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris on March 7th , 2017 .
