WHAT IS IT?

This Associate in Science degree prepares students to work as a laboratory technician, or provides the foundation for further education in scientific or healthcare-related fields. Career opportunities are expanding, with graduates able to assist scientists and engineers by performing chemical and physical laboratory tests related to quality control monitoring, research and development, and manufacturing, plus maintain lab health and safety standards.
The two-year Chemical Technology A. S. degree curriculum is designed to develop skills that are critical for success in any scientific or healthcare career: analytical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication of technical information.
You can choose from three specialization tracks within the A. S. degree:
• Biomedical Technology
• Chemical Technology
• Engineering College Credit Certificate:
• Scientific Workplace Preparation
Note: The Scientific Workplace Preparation CCC is comprised of courses that meet many of the prerequisite requirements for EFSC’ s Nursing and Health Science programs.
