Unit 24 - Writing for Television and Video

BBC

To the right of this text box, the picture is of the script I proposed for BBC Three. The task was to create a 10 minute pilot episode that revolved around the genre drama, along with another genre of my choice. For the reason of this, my show was called Paradox and the show is about two school children named Arthur and Leo who establish a friendship early on in the show. Arthur initially gains a friendship thinking that Leo has become his friend out of concern for his loneliness, but he then comes to realise that Leo has only become Arthur's friend for the simple reason that he intended to steal his work and use him for a better grade, which lead to him getting manipulated throughout the show. The programme I created was based off of the show Waterloo Road where school kids are also involved in regular conflict with each other and this inspired me to create a similar programme. However, the difference is that I go further into school life and about how school kids are maniupulated each and every day, which is portrayed through the character Arthur. As he has been betrayed in the past, he is now tasked with another obstacle of having to combat another betrayal.
