Rotary Dental Grant Christmas in April The Cararoo Foundation has 120 children attending Nursery, Elementary and High School,. Mrs Letty Miranda, (Picture below) and friends of our late Chair Person Eli Miranda organised an early Christmas for the Cararoo children, which fitted in very well with the end of the school year. In 2011, as part of the sponsorship, a vitamin program was started, and with the support of Rotary PDG Tony Castley and the Rotary Club of Northlakes Toukley & Rotary International, as of September 2013, a 12 month Dental Program has begun. A number of friends and organisations donated clothing, groceries, soap, toys, Tupperware, tooth brushes & tooth paste, hot meals, fruit and drinks for a party. A full list of those who helped make the day a success can be seen on the WELCOME picture. As part of the Health program established in 2011, ‘Food, Vitamins & Oral Hygiene’ are taught to the children. A blessing by Sister made the day special. Our first dental patient Abegail Onas We would like to thank Barangay Captain Gloria for her words to the children. Gloria will be retiring soon, and will be greatly missed as she has been part of the Cararoo family since 1996. The children organised a concert to say thank you for the early Christmas celebration. And in typical Filipino fashion they sang a beautiful song. Page 5 of 8
