Paint Care
Once the paint is clean, professional detailers now proceed to take care of the paint. This step is an
engaging one as it not only involves washing but also getting rid of surface imperfections. It consists
of various procedures, from washing the paintwork to claying the car and removing surface
imperfections.
1. Cleaning the paintwork
In this step, the detailer foams the entire exterior space of the vehicle and leaves it to soak for a few
minutes. Professionals use special products that are specially made for removing grime on
paintwork. At this point, the product may remove the wax, but this is not a concern as the car will be
waxed.
After soaking the car for a while, the detailer uses plush wash mitts and soft microfiber towels to
clean the car and get rid of the surface contamination. They may also use a soft bristled detailing
brush to clean parts such as the window rubbers, plastic grills, trim details, and badges. They also
clean the engine and its components and drain out old fluids. After cleaning, they thoroughly rinse
off the car with clean water.
