Ethical Analysis

A major issue within gender inequality in college athletics lies in the hands of the student body and fanbase of different universities. The fact that the number of students and fans attedning male sports soars over the number attending female sports says a lot about how society views sports according to gender. The statistics of attendance are very clear, revealing the message society is sending: female sports are looked at as less entertaining and appealing than male sports. This phenomenon can be linked to the socialization of sports being an activity that is meant for strong, physical males.
