of the best. “Community support
ensures we can reach every child who
would benefit from our care,” says Alan
Anderson, Director of Development.
“The money donated comes right back
to the community in the form of a child
who is helped and can reach his or her
full potential.”
Located adjacent to the UC
Davis Medical Center and part of a
network of 22 Shriners Hospitals,
the Sacramento hospital had 27,000
patient visits in 2016, far exceeding the
10,000 visits expected annually upon
opening 20 years ago. “There’s been
tremendous growth in the scope of our
work and recognition of our expertise,”
notes Anderson. Since opening, the
hospital has admitted 68,000 patients
for treatment, with most benefiting
from ongoing care over many years.

“Our goal is giving these kids
what they need to achieve their
dreams, which includes the ability to
be independent and self-sufficient,”
explains Anderson.
“Whether you donate $10 or $1
million, you are directly impacting
children’s lives,” concludes Anderson.
“A donation to Shriners Hospital is one
way you can make a huge difference
in the lives of children and build a
healthier, stronger community.”
