10KM PEACE RUN
Hengie McInnes, Johannesburg
A 53-year-old, Hengie has the spirit of a 38-year-old. Apart from an HR
Officer, she was also a professional couchie and a wanna-be healthier and
fitter person. She believes that this opportunity came at exactly the right
time in her life. Although the challenge scared her a little at first, Hengie has
put in the work and is very excited for race day to roll around.
Marcia Knoetze, East London
Marcia turned 51 this year and entered the challenge because it was now or
never. When she was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, Marcia had to
make radical lifestyle changes. Due to extensive surgery, she became
self-conscious and withdrew from all activities, and became a carb-loving
couch potato instead. Marcia’s goal is to complete the challenge and get rid
of her couch.
Loyiso Jamani, Cape Town
Loyiso is 41, and married with three kids. With regards to sports and being
active, he used to enjoy watching other people do it on TV. But Dream
Chasers changed all that, and he has been following the advice of the
coaches and dietician closely. Loyiso is prepared to take on this challenge
come what may.
