“The Iran deal was one of the worst . . . transactions the US has ever entered into,” Mr Trump said. “We will not continue down a path whose predictable conclusion is more violence, more terror and the very real threat of Iran’s nuclear breakout.”

Decertifying the Iran deal is not only affecting the US, but the US allies also. If the US does decide to reimpose sanctions and end the deal, America’s allies would have to decide whether to deal with the US or Iran. This is a tough decision for most countries, such as Germany, for example. German companies have suffered “billions and billions and billions of dollars by not being able to trade with Iran,” said German Ambassador Peter Wittig.

The US could potentially lose a substantial amount of money if it decides to end the deal by losing a trade partner. However, the US would no longer be seen supporting an unsafe country who is still slowly manufacturing nuclear weapons under their sanctions.
