REMEMBER – THE SCALE
IS JUST ONE PIECE OF
THE BIG PICTURE.
My athletes are asked to
submit structured updates
that include not just their
weight, but a lot of
information about their past
week: sleep pattern, stress,
energy, focus, workout
performance, appetite, meal
or workout deviations,
water intake, and a current
video of their compulsory
poses. Only when I have all
this data can I best assess
their past week’s progress
and address any elements of
concern to optimize their
results. And when they
progress, it also allows me
to provide praise and
encouragement to keep
them going.
With that said, there may be
weeks that we don’t see
change on the scale, and
this is something that many
have difficulty accepting.
