CANADIAN PHYSIQUE ALLIANCE May/June Issue | Page 41
Physique overall title at the Flex Classic. That’s my
main focus for the 2020 season.
Posing has become something I am known for in
the bodybuilding community and it's one of the
main reasons I step on stage. Bodybuilding is
all about the presentation, it doesn’t matter how
great of a physique you have if you don’t know
how to present it. My advice for people looking to
improve their posing game is to get in touch with
your body. Yoga has been a great tool for me to
improve my posing ability, the same way Arnold
Schwarzenegger used Ballet to improve his posing
game. From the moment you step on stage your
presentation has begun. Every movement needs
to be calculated. Learn to flow from one shot to
the next, your transition should be a pose all on its
own. Practice your mandatory poses often, more
often then you think you should. When It comes
to the individual routines, pick a song that has
meaning to you. Anyone can pick a rock song and
walk out and hit some mandatory poses to music,
pic a song that evokes emotions in you. I compare
your 60 second posing routine to a dance routine.
You’re now a performer, about to do your well
choreographed routine. Every single moment of
your routine should be rehearsed, you can always
tell who practices a routine and who wings it. Don’t
be the guy or girl who wings it. If bodybuilding is
something your passionate about, posing should
be right up there. Bodybuilding is an art, learn how
to display the beautiful physiques you worked so
hard to build.
